What bus are for
Intercity coaches are for a long single leg with few stops: a factory out of the city, a college trip to another province, a wedding party moving between towns. Forty-five seats means one vehicle, one driver and the lowest cost per head of anything we run.
What makes them cheap on the motorway makes them wrong in the city. A coach does not want to stop, and a route with eight pickups will spend its morning turning around.
Worth knowing first
- Cheapest per head, dearest per trip
- The daily rate is the highest in the fleet and the cost per passenger the lowest. Below about thirty-five people, two smaller vehicles usually work out cheaper and arrive sooner.
- Check the road before you book
- A coach needs room to turn and a surface that will carry it. Tell us the pickup point and we will say whether it will get there, rather than finding out on the day.
- Luggage is part of the plan
- Forty-five people with bags need the hold emptied and loaded somewhere that is not a main road. It is worth deciding where before the morning.
